Bruce Clinton Cannon Sr.

Bruce Clinton Cannon Sr., was born April 21, 1934, in Auburn, Alabama, the son of the late James Garven and Mamie Walker Cannon. He died Thursday, December 14, 2006, at his home.

He was a 1956 graduate of Clemson University, where he was a member of the Senior Platoon and the Pershing Rifle Drill Team and was an active member of IPTAY for over 50 years
 Bruce was a civil engineer, and in heavy highway construction with Ballenger Paving Company, retiring after 30 years of service. He was formerly associated with Ashmore Brothers Inc. and established B.C. Cannon Co. Inc. over 25 years ago. He was a member of the American Traffic Safety Services (ATSSA), Concrete Paving Association, and Carolinas Associated General Contractors.
He was a member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his loving wife, Mary McPhail Cannon of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce C. Cannon Jr. and Dede F. Cannon of Taylors; a daughter, Lynne W. Cannon of Greenville; granddaughter, Mallory Lynne Cannon; two brothers, John L. Cannon and his wife, June, of Aiken, S.C., and Joe M. Cannon and his wife, Lydia, of Tinmouth, Vt.; and a sister-in-law, Judy S. Cannon of Liberty, S.C.
He was predeceased by a brother, James Garven Cannon Jr.
