 Toulouse--La Ville Rose

Standing almost in the shadows of the Pyrénées, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in the world has been linked to Atlanta for more than a quarter of a century.  Toulouse once was one of the most exquisite courts of Europe, where a civilization of refinement and great influence developed and where today a vibrant center of learning, technology and enduring elegance resides.

Inspired by his mother's experience in Southwestern France as a student, Mayor Maynard Jackson brought a wonderful relationship to Atlanta in 1974 when he inked the Atlanta-Toulouse sister city alliance.

Over the years numerous Atlantans have had the pleasurable experience of traveling to Toulouse, drinking in the beauty of the city and its marvelous countryside.  When touring the city's monuments and museums one cannot resist being inspired by the traditions of music, dance, and theater that seem to permeate the air.
